“The Association of Independent Journalists and Communicators of Nicaragua (PCIN, for its acronym in Spanish) denounced the 'disappearance' of the journalist, Fabiola Tercero. At the same time, it expressed 'deep concern and dismay' at a new day of persecution against men and women of the press, during the last two weeks.
'PCIN has tried in various ways to obtain information about her (Tercero), but so far it has been impossible to communicate. We continue trying to locate her or to get information about her,' PCIN said in a press release. 'We demand that, if she has been detained by the Police, her personal integrity and rights be respected and that her arrest be publicly reported,' they added.

Organizations such as the Nicaraguan Women's Autonomous Movement (MAM) and the Inter-American Legal Assistance Center for Human Rights (Calidh), have indicated that the journalist's house was raided by the Police on July 12, the day she was reported missing."
