"The Press and Society Institute (IPYS, by its Spanish acronym) of Venezuela denounced the intimidation of journalists covering the country's opposition primary elections, held on Sunday, Oct. 22. The organization said on its X account (formerly Twitter) that journalist Karla Avila of the news outlet Qué Pasa en Venezuela, in Bolívar state, was photographed by an unknown man and a member of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

In addition, the organization echoed the report of the National College of Journalists (CNP), Caracas chapter, which said that unknown individuals arrived at the organization's headquarters and took photographs.
