"In May of this year, a group of women journalists of Channel 9 had denounced a superior for sexual harassment and had warned of the systematic nature of his behavior towards the female press workers under his charge. As a result of the investigation, more complaints and testimonies were gathered about the same person and about other managers of the company.
Three of the complainants were dismissed without cause in a clear act of retaliation, and the management failed to attend the hearing scheduled for Fri., Aug. 5, at the Ministry of Labor to address the situation. The International Federation of Journalists together with the Paraguayan Union of Journalists (SPP) repudiated the intimidation of which the colleagues are victims and demands their immediate reinstatement."
