Two journalists were sent to trial on Tuesday [October 22] by judges handling cases related to arrests made during the protests against the [alleged] electoral fraud of July 28 in Venezuela.
The National Union of Press Workers (Sntp for its initials in Spanish) reported that photojournalist Deisy Peña will go to trial following the hearing held against her on Tuesday.
Videographer and journalism student Paúl León will also be taken to trial in Trujillo after being held arbitrarily for 84 days. Neither of them had access to private legal defense and will remain in prison until their trial.
