"[In the Dominican Republic,] the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP, for its initials in Spanish), the Association of Photojournalists, and the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) alerted the country's top authorities and Dominican society this Thursday about a series of dismissals, mistreatment, threats, restrictions, and attacks against journalists and other media workers.
Press unions considered the dismissal of more than 40 journalism professionals and the presumed dismissals by the Directorate of Government Strategy and Communication (Diecom) to be excessive.
