"Projor – Institute for the Development of Journalism, in partnership with the Google News Initiative, announces the launch of the 2025 edition of Codesinfo – Innovation Fund for Journalism. The program, which now focuses on artificial intelligence-based solutions for newsrooms, opens applications for proposals from media outlets and collectives throughout Brazil starting Aug. 18.
In its new phase, Codesinfo's priority is to promote the use of artificial intelligence in Brazilian journalism. Eligible organizations—legally constituted media outlets listed in the News Atlas—will be able to submit innovative projects that utilize AI to develop applications capable of helping improve newsroom dynamics, enhance digital products, and expand collaboration and knowledge exchange in the sector.

Each selected project will receive up to R$160,000 for development over seven months, as well as personalized mentoring with experts. Applications will be accepted from Aug. 18 to Sept. 13, 2025, exclusively through www.codesinfo.com.br."
