“Venezuela's National Telecommunications Commission, an agency controlled by President Nicolás Maduro's government, ordered the closure of the radio station Victoria 103.9 FM of La Victoria, in Aragua state, alleging that it's authorization to broadcast had expired.
[...]
'It was learned that the station had made a request for renewal of the concession, but did not receive a response from the telecommunications agency. Victoria 103.9 FM was broadcasting continuous traffic news about the Autopista Regional del Centro and alternate roads,' the organization IPYS Venezuela said.
IPYS denounced that with the closing of the radio station, approximately 15 people were left without jobs. In total, 18 radio stations had been closed by State entities in 2024.”
