"The relationship between journalism and the protection and defense of human rights is unbreakable. In cases of violence against women, information lacking a gender-based approach deepens gender gaps and can promote stigma, stereotypes, prejudice, prototypes, and even gender violence itself.
The Forum is an important, diverse and open meeting space where women and men who work in communications can reflect on news treatment, use of women's images and their journalistic approach. This is why the Foundation for Journalism and ONU Mujeres are jointly promoting different actions. One of them is journalists' training to strengthen their abilities and provide them with additional and necessary tools that can allow them to develop a journalism with a gender-based approach, which is committed to the Fight against Violence.
