"An international study released this Tuesday (July 20, 2021) demonstrates a colossal increase in attacks on the press in Brazil and Latin America. The Voces del Sur (VdS) network, of which the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) and 12 other organizations in the region are part, released the third edition of the Sombra Report. The report presents particularly worrying data for Brazil. The number of alerts against violations of press freedom, freedom of expression and access to information in the country has grown 222% in 2020 compared to 2019."
