"The public prosecutor's office has denounced state deputy Renato Machado as the person who ordered the death of journalist Robson Giorno in 2019. According to Gaeco [a unit against organized crime], Machado 'was the person who ordered the murder, planning, determining and directing the criminal activity'. There are also other accusations from the public prosecutor's office against the parliamentarian.
The politician had already been charged by the Homicide Division of Niterói and São Gonçalo for the crime. The public prosecutor's office claims that Rodrigo Negão and Sub-Lieutenant Davi were the perpetrators, and that the crime was committed for a despicable reason: revenge.
The complaint states that the death was ordered by Renato Machado because of attacks on his reputation, regarding an extramarital relationship with Vanessa Alicate and an alleged pregnancy.
The crime took place in May 2019. The journalist was murdered with six shots in front of his wife. Robson was a businessman and owner of the newspaper 'O Maricá.'"
