RSF launches 3rd edition of #EspacioSeguroRSF, university stay for Latin American journalists at risk

Reporters Without Borders (RSF, by its acronym in Spanish) in Spain and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) are collaborating on the third edition of the UMH-Elche #EspacioSeguroRSF program for Press Freedom. This initiative offers a Latin American journalist at risk the opportunity to spend three months at the UMH campus in Elche, Alicante, during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, according to a statement from RSF.

The program aims to provide the selected journalist with a safe haven and a platform to share his or her knowledge and experiences with UMH students. The journalist will be named an honorary collaborating professor during his or her stay. The initiative also seeks to combine the development of the journalist's teaching skills with the professional growth of the students, RSF said.

Those interested in participating should send their application between June 24 and July 11 of this year to the e-mail: EspacioSeguro@proton.me The selection will be made public by July 15.
