"A provocation to the Union of Professional Journalists (SJPMG, for its initials in Portuguese) and the Journalist's House caused great concern, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (July 22), with the need for mobilization of the Military Police and the Special Police Operations Battalion.
In the morning, a suspicious package was left on the steps of the House, with messages typical of extremists (photos), and hateful phrases against President Lula and the government's fiscal policy.
Because it was impossible to identify the contents of the package, Lina Rocha, president of the Minas Gerais Journalists' Union, and Carlos Barroso, president of the Journalist's House, called the Military Police, who responded to the call to investigate. The Military Police themselves felt threatened and called the Bomb Squad of the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE), which cordoned off the entire area, preventing the movement of people and vehicles."
