Telemundo and Univision’s fact-check teams grow after launch of anti-disinformation project ahead of U.S. elections

"The amount of content to fact-check during the 2020 U.S. presidential campaign is so considerable that FactChat‘s Spanish-speaking allies, Univision and Telemundo, have increased the size of their teams to both translate their partners’ work into Spanish and  produce their own articles.

Nearly 30% of the fact-checks published by these two television channels for FactChat’s Whatsapp chatbot have been original stories, rather than translating the work of English-language partners. Many of these original fact-checks were produced in the heat of the presidential and vice-presidential debates."
