IAPA asks López Obrador to 'immediately suspend' his attacks on journalists

"The Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) asked Mexico's president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to "immediately suspend the attacks and insults" against journalists, warning that these attacks "from the pinnacle of power encourage violence against the press."

Through a press release, the organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of press freedom also made public its rejection of what it considers a smear campaign by the president against Mexican journalists.

The IAPA has been reporting "attacks" against journalists by the government, the latest against Carlos Loret de Mola."
