Two journalists from Guyana were allegedly threatened by a political party manager

“At least two local Journalists have been threatened by an executive member of the A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) [political party] in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

Based on reports received, Romario Blair of Kaieteur News and TV host Ravi Mohan were threatened on social media by the executive, Prince Holder after they published and broadcast content of a recording of threats made to staff by former Regional Executive Officer (REO) Dennis Jaikarran.

The post contained several expletives and derogatory names were also used to describe the two reporters. When contacted for a comment, Mohan said that he felt threatened by the post and as such, had intentions to report the matter to the Police. Mohan has since denied mentioning Holder on his TV show, but rather condemned the manner in which the former REO spoke with the media.”
