"The organization Espacio Público denounced this May 3 that in 'at least' 13 states of Venezuela there are no news outlets with an independent editorial line.
'Using direct and indirect means, the Government has reduced the already depressed Venezuelan media ecosystem. Today there are 13 states that do not have access to news outlets with an independent editorial line, which worsened the gap that prevents people from consuming diverse information,' Espacio Público pointed out when presenting its 2022 annual report on May 3, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day.
They specified that the states without independent media are Amazonas, Apure, Aragua, Barinas, Cojedes, Delta Amacuro, Falcón, Guárico, Mérida, Monagas, Portuguesa, Sucre, and Trujillo".
