Venezuela: Government entity shuts down another radio station

"In a new attack on freedom of expression, the National Telecommunications Commission of Venezuela (Conatel, for its Spanish acronym) closed the radio station Minuto 193.9 FM, based in Acarigua, Portuguesa state, this Monday, May 13.

This was reported by the director and founder of the radio station, Fredy Andrade Alvarado, on his X account, where he said that Conatel closed it 'because the test period was valid for 20 years, according to the entity.'

The journalist described this resolution as 'false,' because he said he requested test inspection in 2000 and 'never received a response.'"
