"The board of the National Journalists Union (CNP, by its Spanish acronym) called its more than 25 thousand members to protest against the intentions of the Chavista-majority Parliament to reform the Law on the Practice of Journalism.
Through a press release, the national board of the CNP made a statement on the proposal being carried out by the Media Commission of the Parliament of 2020, which on July 13, announced the creation of working groups to reform the law regulating the work of journalists in Venezuela.
'The National Journalists Union calls its more than 25,800 members, distributed in its 26 branches, to protest individually, to organize, to mobilize, to demand from their union leaders concrete actions so the spirit of the Law is not altered,' according to the CNP.
