"Journalist Sebastiana Barráez denounced that a judge threatened to arrest her for reporting on the case of the Venezuelan ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, who has filed a lawsuit for the custody of his children.
In videos uploaded to her social media, the Venezuelan journalist pointed out that the threats come from Judge Jorge Luis Devenish Griffit. Barráez said that this magistrate warned her that he could declare her in contempt of court and order her arrest if she continued reporting on the case of Ambassador Nelson Ortega Bonilla and his wife Leyla Vanessa Vivas for the custody of the couple's children.
'This judge acting under threat of declaring me in contempt of court and ordering detention prohibits me the right to inform, which is the raison d'être of my profession,' the journalist said."
