“The Venezuelan Prisons Observatory (OVP for its initials in Spanish) requested the release and medical attention for journalist José Gregorio Camero, detained eight months ago in the central state of Guárico.
The organization reported that Camero's wife, Egda Graterol, has reported his health is deteriorating every day, as the journalist and political activist suffers from heart problems and has experienced health decline during his imprisonment. Forensic reports have also confirmed his condition as delicate, and these documents are in the hands of his public defender and the Ombudsman's Office'.
The Observatory reported that despite repeated requests from his family to grant him a humanitarian concession, the authorities of Nicolás Maduro's regime have ignored his situation”.
