The organizers of the fourth Global Summit on Disinformation met on July 10 for the webinar in Spanish “Strengthening the truth: challenges of disinformation globally” in which they offered ideas on how to strengthen all information verification mechanisms, especially in the face of the rise of artificial intelligence, increasingly used by those who seek to misinform.
Carlos Lauría, executive director of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA); Soledad Arréguez, coordinator of education of Proyecto Desconfío; Renán Estenssoro, executive director of the Foundation for Journalism; and Adrián Pino executive director of Proyecto Desconfío, debated their ideas under the moderation of Guadalupe López.
During the event, which lasted almost an hour and was available on the Summit's YouTube account, it was announced that registration for the Summit would open on July 25. The Summit will take place on Sept. 18 and 19 and will be free, virtual and bilingual.
