Workshop on Internet regulation for journalists in Latin America

"Since 2013, the Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information (CELE, by its Spanish acronym) has held an annual workshop whose main goal is to train organizations and journalists from Latin America on internet and human rights issues. This year, in partnership with the Karisma Foundation of Colombia, and Article 19 Mexico and Brazil, CELE will organize sub-regional workshops to involve and train journalists to address the particularities of each sub-region.

We are pleased to announce that the call for applications is open for the workshop 'For a better regulation of the Internet in Latin America,' to be held in Bogota, Colombia on May 9 and 10, 2023.

This workshop aims to train journalists from Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia, in human rights and/or technology. They should be interested in starting to link their editorial line with a human rights agenda in digital media (freedom of expression, online censorship, content blocking, privacy, surveillance technologies, data exploitation, gender violence, etc).

Application deadline: Sat., March 25, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (Colombia time)."
