“The Venezuelan Press and Society Institute (IPYS-Venezuela) published its most recent investigation ‘Atlas of Silence: The news deserts in Venezuela,’ in which it revealed that more than five million people live without access to sufficient media in the country.
Through its national network of correspondents and the systematization of data, it analyzed the reality of 317 municipalities of the 335 that the national territory has in terms of information. Among its conclusions is that '90 of them are news deserts, 122 are moderate deserts, and 105 are not deserts,' the study says."
