"Journalists Carlos Martínez Caamal, Abraham Martínez and Hubert Carrera Pali issued a public apology to the governor of [the Mexican state of] Campeche, Layda Sansores, by order of the State Electoral Court, which ruled that the comments made on their social media analysis program constituted gender-based political violence in its digital and media form.
The ruling was upheld by the Regional Chamber of the Federal Electoral Court, based in [the city of] Xalapa, forcing the journalists to comply with the sanction.
In compliance, they broadcast a video on the La Barra Noticias digital platform, in which each of them read the text dictated by the authority: ‘An apology is offered to the Constitutional Governor of the State of Campeche because the statements made on a YouTube and Facebook program were offensive, stereotypical and generated gender-based political violence, in the form of digital and media violence.’”
