After receiving death threats, a Honduran TV reporter sought refuge in a police station on the night of Monday, Aug. 27, reported the Committee for Free Expression (C-Libre).
Alex Roberto Sabillón, TV channel 10 Multicanal reporter, spent the night at the police station in the city of Choloma in northern Honduras after filing a statement over allegations of sedition made against him by the public utility company Aguas de Choloma, according to C-Libre. Sabillón said that a man riding a bicycle warned him that he would be killed hours after giving his statement.
Sabillón had been covering protests against water privatization in that community, resulting in the accusations of sedition against him, according to the Center for Informative Reports of Guatemala.
