The victim was shot dead three times by a lone motorcyclist.
Sandro Saúl Sánchez was a well-known journalist from the border, owner of the digital media outlet Amambay Noticias and a producer of medicinal cannabis oil.
'We consider it extremely essential that investigations aimed at clarifying and punishing this crime be oriented in a way to confirm or rule out whether it was motivated by the victim's informative activity,' according to the statement."
