IAPA urges Honduran Supreme Court to rule on revoked TV frequency

The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) called on Supreme Court to rule on the ownership and frequency concession of a local TV station, Canal 8, that was taken over by the government, El Heraldo reports.

The court has yet to rule on a challenge to the constitutionality of the executive decree that authorized the seizure, which IAPA says “could represent an act of confiscation” and potentially violate “the principles of freedom of the press and the public’s right to information.”
