Dominican television journalist shot at after finishing taping show

Dominican journalist Ramón Ramírez (Tito) was shot at five times Saturday night just minutes after he finished taping his television program, “Contenido Semanal,” according to El Nuevo Diario.

Ramírez, who also is a board member of the Association of Journalists and Radio and Television Program Producers (APROTEL) and an official in the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), said he is not sure why someone tried to killed him.

The Dominican Journalists Guild (CDP) condemned the attack and called for a thorough investigation, saying that the shooting was an "attack against journalism," according to DiarioDigitalRD.
