Mayoral candidate beats radio reporter at funeral in Colombia

A candidate for mayor in the northern Colombian city of Valledupar beat a radio reporter he blamed for his electoral defeat, according to Vanguardia de Valledupar.

The news editor for the radio station Maravilla Stereo, Limedes Molina Urrego, says ex-candidate Gonzalo Gómez attacked him during the funeral of a photographer the two attended on Nov. 16. "You succeeded with your goal," the candidate told the reporter before he hit him in the neck, reported El Heraldo.
