Authorities warned journalist Esteban Rosario that there was a plot against his life, Diario Libre reports. Several alleged killers would have received $25,000 for the reporters’ death.

Rosario hosts and produces a TV news show in Santiago, where he frequently reports on corruption and irregularities at the region’s public institutions, 7 Días explains.

According to Diario Digital, Rosario also reported the death threat to the Dominican Journalists’ Guild (CDP), which demanded increased protection for the reporter.
