Óscar Rubio Cárdenas, 75, was killed in his apartment in Bogotá, apparently by two people who attempted to rob him, EFE reports.
Rubio Cardenas, 75, wrote opinion columns for La Patria newspaper in the city of Manizales, and, according to EFE, was the promoter of a cultural and educational movement that sought to teach poetry to young people in that city. He also worked for years as a regional director of RCN radio and as a daily newspaper reporter, EFE says.
Police have said that two people entered his home minutes before he was killed Friday night, but their identities and motives had not been established, EFE adds.
