In a post that circulated Aug. 20, 2020, Gilberto Scofield Jr., director of strategy and business of Lupa since May 2019, and his spouse Rodrigo de Mello, a real estate agent, were falsely named as the founders of the fact-checking outlet, and were called left-wing and LGBT activist militants and were accused of censorship."
