"The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office announced the arrest of the alleged murderer of journalist Armando Linares López, who was killed in March 2022. The suspect, identified as Magdiel 'N,' was apprehended as a result of an operational action in the municipality of Zitácuaro, where the journalist was killed.
The prosecutor indicated that the alleged murderer will be brought before the corresponding judicial body, which will determine his legal sitation.
Linares López died after an armed attack outside his home, following the murder a month and a half earlier of Roberto Toledo, a colleague at Monitor Michoacán, where he was the newspaper's director. It was learned that the victim had repeatedly reported death threats and requested security from the authorities."
