"With three groups detected as aggressors, 93 attacks and the murder of a journalist, it is how the State Commission for the Attention and Protection of Journalists (CEAPP) [in the state of Veracruz] closed its statistics for 2021, Israel Hernández Sosa, executive secretary of CEAPP, said.
He commented that organized crime occupies a high percentage within the groups detected as aggressors of journalists, but also police groups, 'this last point should be addressed because police must guarantee a journalist's safety and not be his aggressor.'"
