Bolivia: Photojournalist from El Deber news outlet beaten and his equipment damaged while covering a protest

"A photojournalist from [the Bolivian news outlet] El Deber was assaulted while covering a strike taking place in [the city of] Santa Cruz.

[The reporter] was recording the events and was seeking an interview with groups related to the Movimiento Al Socialismo (Movement Toward Socialism). It all began when the "masistas" [followers of the Movement Towards Socialism political current] rebuked the police for not lifting a blockade point in the area, they called him incapable, and the incident was recorded by the photojournalist.

The photojournalist was surrounded and attacked from behind. This distracted him and a new blow hit his work equipment, which was damaged when it fell to the ground."
