Cuba: ICLEP denounces brutal aggression against its executive director, independent journalist Alberto Corzo

"The Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and the Press (ICLEP) denounced this Saturday, April 2, that its executive director, the independent journalist Alberto Corzo, was brutally attacked in Matanzas by 'two unknown persons sent by the political police.'

The ICLEP detailed in a statement that two individuals specializing in martial arts suddenly attacked Corzo and abandoned him on the road without having stolen any of his belongings, after he had exchanged words with two political police officers known as Fernando and Alexander Blacksmith.

The married couple of journalists, Alberto Corzo and Martha Liset Sánchez, have systematically been victims of different types of aggression by the repressive organs of the Cuban regime."
