Eduardo Sapene, mentor to generations of Venezuelan journalists, dies at 74

“Renowned Venezuelan journalist Eduardo Sapene, former vice president of news and opinion at Radio Caracas Televisión — the station shut down by former President Hugo Chávez in 2007 — died early Thursday in the city of Doral, in Miami-Dade County.

Sapene, 74, went into cardiac arrest at Jackson West Medical Center, where he had sought care for symptoms of dehydration and weakness, Daniella Martucci, president of DMH & Associates Communications, told El Nuevo Herald.”
