"Venezuelan journalist and activist Melanio Escobar claimed that he has received new threats against his family from Chavista militants, whom he accused of being members of the Cartel de los Soles and the Tren de Aragua.
'The Chavistas who are members of the Cartel de los Soles and the Tren de Aragua threaten me daily for doing my job, but they have gone further by directly threatening to abduct my family to force me to return to Venezuela so they can disappear me, torture me, or kill me,' he wrote on his account.
The journalist shared screenshots of intimidating messages containing phrases such as: 'We have to locate this bastard's family to make him come to Venezuela' and 'We have to offer a reward for information.'"
