"In a fiery criticism of Uruguayan journalism and the 'role' it plays in today's society, Graciela Bianchi, senator of the National Party and on several occasions interim vice-president of the Republic [of Uruguay], questioned Eduardo Preve from Salta. Preve is the director of the news program of TV Ciudad (a channel belonging to the Municipality of Montevideo) and former director of Subrayado of Channel 10. Bianchi questioned 'his way of reporting,' first on the case of the drug dealer Sebastián Marset and later questioned him for the 'damage caused to the country during the pandemic,' Biachi said.
[...] Bianchi openly said during the inquiry [...] that: 'on the role of journalism I reserve my opinion.' She was questioning the treatment given on this occasion to the case of the narco Sebastián Marset by the Uruguayan press. [...]
But Bianchi also criticized a tweet written by Preve, with the chronology of the Marset case. Bianchi said that: 'if I look at Preve's tweet... I took care of him...', insinuating that she could've had something to do with his dismissal from Channel 10 a year ago. The journalist had been in charge of the news program Subrayado for more than a decade."
