"The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) announced today that it will present the 2025 Grand Prize for Press Freedom to Daniel Coronell, President of Univision News at TelevisaUnivision, in recognition of his extraordinary journalistic career, his leadership in Spanish-language television in the United States, and his steadfast commitment to defending freedom of the press and expression in the Americas.
The IAPA Executive Committee highlighted Coronell’s courage, noting that despite facing threats and persecution that forced him into exile, he remains one of the most influential and respected voices in journalism across the region.

His tireless work, his leadership in continent-wide media, and his defense of press freedom, even in the most adverse moments, make him a role model for all who believe in the power of free and independent journalism,' said IAPA president José Roberto Dutriz, general director and CEO of La Prensa Gráfica, El Salvador."
