"In the last 25 years more than 2,300 journalists and reporters have died due to their profession. The majority have died while covering war zones like Afghanistan, Syria and Iran, but also in other countries like Mexico, China and the Philippines. In 2019 alone, 49 journalists were murdered, 389 were imprisoned and 57 were kidnapped."
