Journalist and family suffer attack with explosives in Ecuador

"Journalist Mario Pinto from MP Noticias suffered an attack with an explosive device on the night of Aug. 25 at his home, located in the north center of Machala [Ecuador]. At 10:15 p.m. a neighbor of the communicator began to shout towards the windows of the house that a stick of dynamite had been thrown. Pinto alerted his relatives to this fact and they immediately went to the backyard when the device exploded and broke one of the 6-millimeter windows of the bedroom screen. In conversation with Fundamedios, Mario Pinto said: 'I do not understand what could have happened because I have not received threatening calls.' In recent days the digital media outlet has published several videos of common robberies of citizens in the streets that are captured by security cameras."
