"The National Association of Bolivian Journalists and the Circle of Women Journalists condemned the assault suffered by journalist Marcela Cruz Tola in Oruro, when a man attacked her while she was hosting a program on Channel 15. Both organizations demanded an immediate investigation.

A security camera video captured the moment a man entered the set and punched the journalist, knocking her off her chair. A station employee intervened and managed to subdue the attacker, who later appeared with a wound on his mouth. The man also allegedly threatened to kill Cruz Tola.
After the attack, Marcela Cruz Tola said she does not know the man and that, at the time of the attack, the man threatened to kill her if she did not agree to go out with him."
