On Dec. 30, after a court hearing in which the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office was evaluated, Judge José Guadalupe Nucamendi Albores ruled not to indict the journalist on terrorism charges, considering that the legal requirements for establishing that criminal conduct were not met. However, he was indicted on charges of obstruction of justice and attacks against public security institutions.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, the charges against Rafael León Segovia were related to the possession and distribution of audiovisual material that, according to its analysis, could have benefited criminal groups and hindered the work of law enforcement.
