National Institute of Transparency of Mexico orders Attorney General to make public the investigation of the murder of journalist Regina Martínez

“The National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI, for its acronym in Spanish) instructed the Attorney General of the Republic [of Mexico] to provide the public version of the investigation folder for the homicide of journalist Regina Martínez, who was assassinated on April 28, 2012, when she was a correspondent for Proceso in Veracruz.

The INAI heard an appeal filed as part of the investigation the 'Cartel Project,' carried out by an international group of media and journalists coordinated by the European organization Forbidden Stories, in which Proceso participated, published in December to follow up on the journalistic work Regina Martínez and evidence the anomalies in the investigation of the Veracruz authorities regarding her murder."
