"The Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji, by its Portuguese acronym) and other organizations that work in defense of press freedom and freedom of expression recorded an unprecedented wave of attacks against journalists, photographers, cameramen, and reporters in recent days. After the results of election run-off for the [presidential] elections, supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro physically attacked and harassed at least 37 teams in all regions of the country, in events in favor of a coup in capital cities, countryside towns, and at roadblocks.
The mobilization to attack press professionals by the most radical base of the defeated president went from the digital world into the streets. Organizations recorded cursing, racist statements, and even physical confrontations."
