San Pedro Sula mayor apologizes to journalist after inappropriate conduct by municipal official

"Mayor Roberto Contreras of San Pedro Sula, [Honduras,] publicly apologized to journalist Lisseth García of Diario La Prensa after one of the municipal employees engaged in an act considered questionable and contrary to press freedom.

The Municipality clarified in a statement that the employee's actions do not reflect the actions or beliefs of the San Pedro mayor or the municipality's Press and Media Directorate.
