TV crew suffers attempted robbery during live broadcast in Córdoba, Argentina

A journalist and a cameraman were victims of an attempted robbery while broadcasting live in Córdoba, Argentina. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 4, when a thief on a motorcycle—known locally as a “motochorro”—attempted to steal their equipment.

Journalist Sofía Pérez D'Abreu and cameraman Beto Pereyra, from the channel C5N, were south of the city center when the reporter noticed a motorcyclist approaching at high speed. Live footage shows Pérez D'Abreu reacting in panic as the attacker crossed in front of her, reached out and tried to grab the cell phone and tripod held by Pereyra.

Through her X account, the journalist later posted a message clarifying that the robbery was not successful and that both she and her colleague were fine.
