"Guatemala's National Civil Police (PNC, by its acronym in Spanish) has reported that two journalists were killed on Friday night [Aug. 11] in the department of Retalhuleu [Guatemala] after being attacked with firearms, according to the Guatemalan newspaper La Hora.
A preliminary police report revealed that the two journalists were on their way home, located in the village of La Montaña, in Retalhuleu, when they were approached by two other men who were riding a motorcycle and fired several shots at them.
In total, the police found four bullet casings at the crime scene. The same document identified the deceased as Edin Frangeli Alonzo López, 36, and Hugo Rolando Gutiérrez Alonzo. Both wrote for the Caballo Blanco news website."
