"The Office in Mexico of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-DH) called on Jan. 4, National Journalist Day in this country, to guarantee conditions of freedom and security for the work of information professionals.
In a statement, UN-DH said that in addition to recognizing those who practice journalism, 'it is essential to reaffirm the commitment to freedom of expression, the creation of conditions for freedom and security for journalistic work, as well as the fight against impunity.'"
